Wamser and the World

Hi, I'm Kathleen Wamser and I'm a recent college graduate who loves travel, art, adventure and learning about culture. I majored in marketing with a focused in management and an additional certificate in graphic design! I decided not to take the original route of college then job, but instead moved to Spain to teach English for some time. Now back in the USA I am looking for a job in marketing with a focus in events, travel or adventure. This blog will tell you a little bit about my passions and my adventures as they occur and the plans for the future.

Who I Follow

What I have randomly done in the past week or so…driving…my cousin got a job in Kansas City, so he was going to drive out there, I decided to come along for the ride because I was bored and I know a pretty cool chica out there.

First leg of the trip from NH to Kansas City, MO with an overnight stop in Cincinatti, OH (24 hours)

Monday- I drove to CT, spent the night purchasing the car we were going to use to drive there, cuz who doesnt wait til the night before you leave on a 22 hour roadtrip to buy their car.

(John and his brand new car)

Tuesday- we left for Kansas City. It was a lot of driving but also a lot of laughs.

(I-70 where I spent way to many miles)

Things we saw and happened included:

  • giant tiger on the back of a tractor trailer
  • 3 new dings in John’s brand new windshield…oops not so new anymore
  • PERFECT women for peopleofwalmart.com she had a crown, tiara and giant earring- i wish i had a picture…would have been a gem
  • lots of rain any time i was behind the wheel
  • lots of stops at Subway-the proud sponsor of Kathleen driving time
  • a cop pulling me over in Illinois for a speeding ticket- didn’t even let me try to talk my way out of it
  • John telling me I could make a run for the Missouri border…1 hour drive
  • lots of signs for giant sex stores…I guess nothing else to do in the Midwest
  • lots of nothing…

Things we did not see included…any significant road trip landmark…FAIL

(looks exciting doesn’t it)

Wednesday- Arrived in KC around 4pm after time change and 11 hours in the car, obvious first stop Walmart Midwest style

I then spent 3 days in Kansas City with the lovely Katie and her roomies who gave me a wonderful couch to sleep on!

(Katie and I)

I also got to spend like 4 hours in Nebraska furniture mart completely decorating my cousins apartment, plus walmart and bed, bath and beyond, spending other peoples money is a skill I have!

Saturday- Airplane ride to Cleveland then to Bradley Airport in CT (4 hours)

Car ride up to a family party in Fairfield, CT (another hour or so)

Celebrated my uncles 50th bday with plenty of good food, wine and family fun! During the night, as I do, I randomly offered to drive a different cousin back to college the next day!

Sunday-Trip to the University of Delaware (3 hours)

Then I got to spend a night pretending to be a freshman in college again, by that I mean I hung with my cousin and her friends who seemed pretty cool, got some delicious dinner, checked out the U Del campus a bit and prob pissed of her roomie for randomly crashing without asking.

Monday- Ate at IHOP and a long drive back from Delaware to NH and finally arrive home (6 hours).

A total of around 35+ hours in less than a week hitting 13 different states and rode in 6 cars(including random trips around KC) and 2 planes during the time. I would say it was a successful trip for sure…except that stupid speeding ticket…
